Charles McCurley, MD

Dr. McCurley is a native Texan with deep roots in the Texas Hill Country. He is the proud father of three children and lucky husband to his wife Wendy. He earned a degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. McCurley completed his Family Medicine residency in Waco and Sports Medicine fellowship in San Antonio.
As a Sports Medicine Physician, Dr. McCurley’s goal is to keep his patients on track to living an active, healthy life. From treatment of acute injuries in the young athlete to the management of painful joints in athletes who continue to compete into their retirement years, Dr. McCurley treats muscle, bone and joint injuries and conditions with a conservative, non-surgical approach.
As a Family Physician, Dr. McCurley enjoys caring for patients of all ages; from the first newborn appointment to adolescence and throughout adulthood. He is an advocate for his patients and strives to keep his patients engaged in their health.
Dr. McCurley enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, golf, most team sports, skiing, triathlon, gardening and auto mechanics. He is an active member at Currey Creek Church.
Wendy McCurley, MD

Dr. McCurley, a native Texan, is a proud mother to three beautiful children and wife to husband Charles. She earned a degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her Family Medicine residency in Waco.
Dr. McCurley’s favorite part of being a family physician is getting to know her patients on a personal level and simplifying the ever-evolving and increasingly complex medical world. She views her role as a teacher and encourager in promoting healthy lifestyles for families.
In addition to practicing Family Medicine, Dr. McCurley is pleased to provide aesthetic treatments including Botox injections, chemical peels, dermal filler injections, and laser procedures for skin rejuvenation, acne treatment, and hair removal.
Dr. McCurley enjoys being a mother, cooking, traveling, skiing, fly fishing, and gardening. She is an active member at Currey Creek Church.
Mark Jung, MD

Dr. Jung, a native Texan, is blessed to be married to his beautiful wife Margaret and the father of 4 amazing children. He was born and raised in New Braunfels, TX, and although he wasn’t born in Boerne, got here as fast as he could.
He earned a Bachelors of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin and subsequently his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed his residency training at the McLennan County Family Medicine Residency Program in Waco, TX where he served as Chief Resident. After completion of his residency, he practiced in Waco for over three years before joining his good friends, Charles and Wendy McCurley, at Sports and Family Medicine of Boerne.
As a Family Physician, Dr. Jung enjoys caring for the full spectrum of patients from newborns to geriatrics, and provides both acute care services along with chronic disease management. He enjoys the opportunity to care for complete family units as understanding the values of each family unit deeply impacts healthy outcomes. He believes the best way to beat disease is through healthy living and disease prevention.
Dr. Jung enjoys spending time with his family and he and his family are members of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne.
Leighan Brown, PA-C

Leighan is in her second career as a Certified Physician’s Assistant. After several years as an airline pilot, Leighan was inspired to become a PA-C to help others live a happy and healthy life. She completed her Physician Assistant education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
She also enjoys gardening, hiking, reading and the martial arts – she will soon have her black belt!
Kirsten Fikes, PA-C

Kirsten Fikes is originally from Kentucky and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from DePauw University in Indiana. Kirsten then served as a public health educator in the US Peace Corps in East Africa for three years.
Kirsten moved to Texas in 2006 and completed her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010 at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Kirsten feels it is a privilege to be a PA, helping people feel better and encouraging healthy living.
Kirsten enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters. She and her family and members of Currey Creek Church.
Lindsey Cardone, PA-C

Lindsey is a native Texan, born and raised in Katy, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health from Texas A&M University and then went on to earn her master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in Arizona.
Lindsey has worked in primary care since 2014 and is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care to all of her patients. She enjoys working in an area of medicine that allows her to build long-lasting relationships with her patients and their families.
She is a proud mom of two boys and enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and taking advantage of all of the outdoor activities the hill country has to offer.
